Our History

Current Church Built: Dedicated October 9, 1988

Seating: 1,200

Households: 2,400

The Church of St. Joseph was founded in 1942 when "Sloppy Joe's" tavern was remodeled and expanded to become the first St. Joseph's church.  Eventually, the remodeled church became part of the school. A new church and bell tower were dedicated on October 9, 1988.

In addition to the primary worship space that seats 1200, the Church of St. Joseph features a beautiful Daily Mass Chapel and Eucharistic Adoration Chapel.  The main church is adorned by unique stained glass windows designed by artist Deiterich Spahn of Wayzata, Minnesota.

St. Joseph's Parochial School was dedicated  on June 19, 1949 and just celebrated its fiftieth anniversary. Spanning Kindergarten through grade eight, the school's enrollment has continued to stay strong, currently at 750 students. It features a strong academic and fine arts curriculum with an emphasis on faith formation and respect for others. It also offers a wide variety of extra-curricular activities.

St. Joseph's has an active RCIA program and a busy and vibrant Faith Formation program. A Youth Ministry and Vacation Bible School are also available for the young people in the parish.

As a parish, we are proud to be involved in the Loaves and Fishes program, Habitat for Humanity and have worshipped our Lord in Perpetual Adoration since 1991.

The history of this parish is marked by its growth and continuing evolvement into what St. Joseph's is today!
